European Travel

Europe is full of possibilities. I’ll help you turn the places you want to see into a trip that makes sense and feels like yours.

European Travel Planning Made Simple

Planning a trip to Europe can feel overwhelming. With so many countries, cities, transportation options, and experiences to choose from, it’s easy to get stuck trying to piece everything together.

As a European travel advisor, I help you turn that complexity into a clear, well-structured plan that fits your timeline, interests, and travel style.

Whether you’re interested in iconic cities, scenic countryside, or cultural experiences, I help design a trip that feels smooth from start to finish.

Why Work With Me to Plan Your Europe Trip

I’m Christina Haney, owner of All Aboard Travel and Cruise and a travel advisor specializing in European travel. Europe is also one of my favorite places to travel personally, so my recommendations are shaped by both professional trip planning and firsthand experience navigating European destinations.

I’ve traveled through Europe by train, plane, cruise ship, river cruise, private transfer, and on foot. I understand the practical details that can make or break a multi-city trip—how much time you really need in a destination, when a train makes more sense than a flight, where an extra hotel night is worthwhile, and when an itinerary has too much packed into it.

When I plan your trip, I’m not interested in squeezing as many cities as possible into the fewest days. I want to build a trip that makes sense geographically, gives you time to actually experience the places you’ve traveled so far to see, and fits the way you like to travel.

I can help with the entire trip, including hotels, transportation between cities, transfers, tours and experiences, and the logistical details that tie everything together.

What I Can Help You With

Every trip to Europe is different, so I don’t start with a pre-built itinerary and try to make it fit. I help put together the pieces of your trip based on where you want to go, what you want to experience, and how you like to travel.

That can include:

  • Choosing destinations and figuring out how many nights to spend in each place
  • Building a realistic route for multi-city or multi-country trips
  • Finding hotels that fit your preferences, budget, and itinerary
  • Planning how you’ll get from place to place by train, flight, or private transfer
  • Selecting tours, day trips, and experiences you’ll actually enjoy
  • Adding pre- or post-cruise stays to a European river or ocean cruise
  • Making sure all the pieces of your trip work together from arrival to departure

The goal isn’t to pack as much as possible into your vacation. It’s to create a trip that makes sense, feels manageable, and gives you time to enjoy being in Europe

European Travel Planning FAQs

It depends on the length of your trip, but I generally recommend spending at least two to three nights in most major destinations rather than trying to visit a new city every day. Travel days also take more time than they appear to on paper once you account for checking out, getting to the train station or airport, traveling, and checking into your next hotel. A well-paced itinerary usually means seeing fewer places but actually having time to enjoy them.

For most European vacations, I recommend beginning the planning process about 6 to 12 months in advance. If you’re traveling during the busy summer season, visiting particularly popular destinations, or planning a complicated multi-country itinerary, starting earlier gives you a better selection of hotels, transportation, and tours. Holiday periods and major events can also affect availability, so some trips benefit from even earlier planning.

It depends on the route. Trains are often the better choice when cities are relatively close together because they usually travel from city center to city center and eliminate much of the time spent getting to and from airports. Flights can make more sense for longer distances or when traveling between regions that aren’t well connected by rail. When I plan a multi-city itinerary, I look at the entire travel time—not simply which option has the shortest scheduled journey.

There isn’t one best time to visit all of Europe. Spring and fall can offer pleasant weather and fewer crowds in many destinations, while summer provides longer daylight hours but is also the busiest season in much of Europe. Winter can be a wonderful choice for Christmas markets, seasonal events, and certain cities. The best time for your trip depends on where you want to go, what you want to experience, and your preferences for weather and crowds.

Yes. Multi-country and multi-city European itineraries are one of the types of trips I plan. I can help determine a logical route and coordinate hotels, trains, flights, private transfers, tours, and other arrangements between destinations. One of the most important parts of planning these trips is creating an itinerary that works geographically and doesn’t spend too much of your vacation moving from one place to another.

Yes. I can incorporate European train travel into a larger custom itinerary and help determine when traveling by rail makes sense for your route. Train systems, station locations, schedules, connections, and travel times vary throughout Europe, so I consider how each segment fits into the overall trip rather than automatically assuming that a train or flight is always the best option.

Yes. I plan pre- and post-cruise travel for both ocean and river cruises in Europe. This can include hotels, transportation, transfers, tours, and additional destinations before embarkation or after your cruise ends. Adding land travel to a cruise can be a great way to spend more time in your embarkation city or explore another part of Europe while you’re already there.

It depends on the destinations and what you want to experience. In some parts of Europe, staying in one city for several nights and taking day trips is much easier than changing hotels every couple of days. In other areas, moving to the next destination makes more sense and gives you more time to experience it.
When I plan your itinerary, I look at travel times, transportation options, where you want to go, and what you want to do in each place. If we can use one city as a convenient base without spending hours going back and forth, I’ll recommend it. If an overnight stay gives you a better experience, we’ll build that into the trip instead. The goal is to make your itinerary flow well—not move you around just for the sake of adding another city.
